The business problem
The client wanted to investigate opportunities to consolidate procurement spend and generate savings, but had not previously been successful due to decentralized operations across various locations.
We identified savings opportunities in categories including telecommunications, employee benefits, real estate, office supplies, printing and copying, IT expenditures, business insurance, and professional fees. Within 90 days, we negotiated vendor contracts and executed operational changes that generated significant sourcing savings. We also helped implement a new procurement model, including a strategic sourcing group that would sustain these savings and aggressively identify other savings opportunities. The outcome was a total of $40 million in annualized cost savings.
